The Assurance M aladie scheme enabling reimbursement of treatment with exemption from the patient’s contribution concerns some 10.7 million people. In reality, if you take a look at treatments received, no fewer than 20 million people are covered for chronic diseases, 35% of all insurees covered b y the G ener al R eg ime . 60% of Assurance Maladie’s expenditures are currently connected with treatment of chronic diseases, a total of €84 billion.
